1. Preventing Transformer Oil Level from Too Low
The rise or fall of oil level in normal operation of transformer is caused by the change of temperature, and the change of oil level will not be too big. When the oil level drops dramatically, even the oil level can not be seen from the oil level gauge, it may be due to transformer oil leakage, oil leakage phenomenon, which is often caused by transformer tank damage, unloading valve not tightened, transformer top cover not tightened, oil level gauge damage and other reasons. Too low oil level will accelerate the aging of transformer oil and deteriorate the insulation condition of transformer. Therefore, more inspection, maintenance and timely refueling are needed.
2. Observe whether the transformer leaks oil
It is found that the oil leakage of transformer should be treated in time. If the oil leakage is serious, the transformer should be stopped and repaired in time. When inspecting, the first step is to find the oil leakage point. The oil leakage fault is easy to find, but the oil leakage fault is not easy to find. Generally, oil leakage occurs in the dust-gathered and humid areas. If the transformer oil seeps out from the upper cover, a ring of screw should be tightened; if the transformer oil seeps out from the retaining position, the retaining cover should be opened and the pressing screw inside should be tightened; if the insulating cushion is aging, the insulating oil cushion should be replaced in time.
3. Distinguishing Transformer Oil Quality with One Smell and Two Views
Transformer oil should be tested once for 1 to 3 years. If the transformer oil does not meet the technical requirements, it should be replaced or filtered as soon as possible. Because of the high quality requirement of transformer oil, it is difficult to explain whether the transformer oil is qualified without voltage withstanding test and simplified test. However, after long-term practice, whether the transformer oil is qualified or not can be identified by one smell and two looks.
Smell: It is to identify the quality of transformer oil by smelling. Qualified transformer oil should be odorless or slightly kerosene. If there are other odors, it means that the oil is deteriorating.
Two look: one look at the color of transformer oil. The new transformer oil is usually light yellow, which will darken after oxidation. Second, look at the transparency of transformer oil. The new transformer oil is transparent in glass bottle and has blue-purple fluorescence. If the fluorescence is lost or no longer transparent, it indicates that there are free carbon and mechanical impurities in the transformer oil.
4. Add transformer oil in time
Because of the cold weather in winter, the oil level of transformer will generally decrease. When the oil mark is not displayed, oil should be added to the oil level line in time. When refueling transformers in operation, it should be noted that transformers with 35 kV or more should be supplied with the same brand of oil and made voltage withstand test. Transformers with 10 kV or less can be replaced with different grades of oil, but should be tested for mixed oil withstand voltage.
5. Check the temperature of oil surface thermometer on the top of tank
As far as possible, the oil temperature of the upper layer of the transformer should not exceed 85 degrees Celsius, that is, the difference between the oil temperature and the room temperature should be less than 55 degrees Celsius. If the oil temperature of the transformer suddenly rises when it is in operation, it is the manifestation of overheating inside the transformer. External causes are transformer serious overload; internal causes include core ignition, winding turn-to-turn short circuit, internal screw loosening, cooling device failure, etc.
6. Handling Deteriorated Transformer Oil in Time
Transformer oil will deteriorate if it is often overheated or water intake and moisture absorption. It is easy to break down and discharge between winding and shell when using oil that can't reach the standard value, resulting in serious accidents.
